Russell McDonald grew up in northern Minnesota. Hunting was a way of life from an early age. After high school he went into the Navy and hunting was put on the back burner. At the age of 40 while living in California, Russ wanted to get back into hunting. Watching turkey hunting on hunting shows sparked an obsession. His obsession followed him to Washington where he got involved in the local Lake Washington NWTF Chapter. His passion for hunting has now lead him to his newest adventure of President of the local and state chapters. His goal is to follow the National Wild Turkey Federation’s mission Save the habitat, Save the Hunt.
