I’m a relatively recent convert to fly fishing, taking it up when we moved to a small lake in Washington about 13 years ago. I initially thought that my eyesight was failing because I could not see my fly after I made my cast. Then it hit me that my eyesight was fine, my casting sucked and I didnít know where my fly landed. That started a journey to improve my casting that ultimately resulted in becoming a Fly Fishers International (FFI) Master Certified Casting Instructor (MCI). In addition, I am a member of the FFI Casting Board of Governors and President of the Washington State Council of the FFI.

Although I love to fish, my real passion is teaching fly casting. Iíve taught casting at the FFI Fair, the FFI Washington State Council Fair, as well as various club events around the state and individual lessons. There are few things that compare to the feeling I get when I see the look on someoneís face when they learn how to make their roll cast shoot out above the water and turn over with authority rather than rolling out on the water and collapsing in a heap.
