Spectacular garden displays at the 2014 Tacoma Home & Garden Show
Top landscape professionals put their work on display in lavish display gardens at the show.
The spectacular gardens, created by SK Landscape, Marenakos Rock Center, and Olympic Landscape, showcase techniques and plant varieties that are both beautiful and inspirational.
As showgoers enter the show, they’ll be treated to an eyeful of color with the imaginative garden display created by SK Landscape of Tacoma. Transforming the Tacoma Dome lobby into a garden retreat, the display is complete with a water feature, a meandering pathway of concrete pavers and outdoor lighting that underscores the liberal use of plants and trees. It will also spotlight artwork by local high school student finalists vying for scholarships in the Third Annual Art Scholarship Competition.
Marenakos of Issaquah, one of the oldest and largest stone suppliers in the Northwest, creates the ideal haven for “Outdoor Living in the Northwest.” Working with members of the Washington Association of Landscaping Professionals (WALP) and Washington State Nursery and Landscape Association (WSNLA), the 6,000 square-foot garden display spotlights outdoor entertainment areas accented by dramatic lighting, a stone and wood trellis, colorful all-season Northwest plantings, a soothing water feature, and a backdrop of stone boulders. Mark the Pond Guy and Live Edge Woodworks are participating in the creation of this impressive display.
Olympic Landscape’s “Color it Spring!” garden display provides an outdoor getaway for relaxation and entertainment. Beautiful wood planters, arbors and spring blooming cherry and magnolia trees frame the secluded and colorful patio seating area. The quiet reflection pond provides the relaxing setting needed to rejuvenate and inspire.
Their Design Studio, which is tucked away in the display, offers showgoers garden inspiration with pictures and slide presentations of their work.
